The REVOLUTION Microarray Scanner Family is an open platform designed to support scans from 5- to 50-micron resolution. This resolution allows the scanner to handle spot feature sizes down to 50 microns (e.g. Combimatrix’s CustomArray™ 12K) as well as spot densities of several hundred thousand (e.g. the Agilent 244K microarray). The software is flexible enough to support commercially printed slides, slides printed for smaller research projects as well as Laboratory-Developed Tests (LDTs). These projects will often vary much more in layout and run size.
VIDAR has a history of designing, manufacturing, marketing and supporting our 17,000+ regulated, optical medical x-ray digitizer devices worldwide. We bring the knowledge, skills and capabilities gained from that legacy to support red and green laser based microarray assays in the LDT, CE-IVDD, and 510(k) environments. Our REVOLUTION microarray scanners are designed to grow with the regulatory requirements of our customers.

PERFORMANCE
The REVOLUTION scanner family supports red and green fluorophores such as CY®3/5, ALEXA® 555/647 and Oyster®550/650 while delivering maximum sensitivity, good uniformity and a wide linear dynamic range of detection. The ability to manually adjust each channel’s laser power and PMT gain means that each chip’s fluorescence characteristics can be properly adjusted to provide the best possible data collection.
FLEXIBILITY
The four-position mini-loader allows the scanner to run in both individual and batch mode. The user can load between 1 to 4 chips, prename the image files, click scan and the system will automatically save the images to the chosen folder.
